MAC Telecom delivers a variety of telecom packages via the VectaStar platform, including Centrex voice using VoIP, internet access, LAN-to-LAN connectivity and leased lines. MAC Telecom is able to compete in the overcrowded Belgium telecoms environment due to the flexible nature of the equipment used. The comprehensive customer service offered incorporates fast installation, pricing to suit individual businesses with the data rates alterable within a day's request from 256kbps to 48Mbps. Higher data rates, up to 155Mbps, can be accommodated via point-to-point links.

"In order to attract customers, we knew we had to deliver that little bit more", commented Axel Beghin, MAC Telecom. "To provide the level of service we had envisaged for our customers, we needed a flexible platform. VectaStar achieved this and more. With Cambridge Broadband's multi-service solution, we can offer various packages and have the capability of expanding the existing infrastructure to accommodate higher frequency bands and add on additional services as our customers' demands grow."

MAC Telecom has both 3.5GHz and 10.5GHz frequency licenses enabling coverage in the metropolitan areas of Brussels and surrounding satellite towns with the VectaStar system.

MAC Telecom is seen as a progressive operator, with the ability to judge the market place and address their customers' needs," said Zine Seghier, VP Business Development, Cambridge Broadband. "Their choice of VectaStar validates the confidence they place in our system to deliver - whether on price, location or service.

Axel Beghin will be presenting a paper on 'Using Broadband Wireless Access to compete in the national business services marketplace' on 25 February in Brussels at IIR's Evolving Access Networks, highlighting MAC Telecom's experience using VectaStar to achieve growth.
