IP LIBRE LAUNCHED TO PROMOTE THE GROWTH OF IP COMMUNICATIONS IN SPANISH AND PORTUGUESE MARKETS WORLDWIDEMiami, FL, and San Salvador, El Salvador August 10, 2005 - IP Libre, www.IPLibre.com, launched today with support from regional leaders in the IP Communications industry including DigiLinea, Swidler, Berlin LLP, América Economía, BNAmericas, Frequencia, and others with the goal of supporting the growth of IP Communications region wide.

IP Libre was founded by Gregory Keough, a VoIP pioneer in the region and CEO of DigiLinea, www.DigiLinea.com, to support the rapid growth of IP communications to the global Spanish and Portuguese speaking markets through the education of consumers, business, and political leaders as to the benefits of the adoption and proliferation of this technology in Latin America, the US Hispanic market, Spain, and Portugal. "As we have been actively involved in the IP Communications industry region wide for many years we saw a clear need for a forum for the interchange of best practices and to assure businesses and regulators are aware of the benefits this technology presents to consumers. Having a central focal point for this on a regional level backed by industry leaders just made lots of sense."
IP Libre has three main goals: 1. Educate and inform consumers, businesses, and political leaders regarding the benefits of the adoption of IP communications region wide; 2. Work as an interface and information source to encourage the adoption of best practices from the US, Europe, and other areas to assure the adoption of IP communications in our markets will integrate well with the emerging international norms and standards; and 3. Act as the meeting point and catalyst for the open interchange and discussion on the development of IP communications in our markets.
"Having witnessed the growth of IP Communications in the US first hand we understand the importance of having a focal point dealing with the regulatory, business, and other aspects of the changes offered by IP communications. We believe the IP Libre forum is essential for the growth of IP Communications region wide and are happy to be a strategic partner with IP Libre," said Bill Whillem, Partner with Swidler, Berlin LLP, "
IP Libre will be hosting a regional IP Communication Summit featuring leading regulators region wide in Orlando, Florida on the 9th of October 2005 in conjunction with the CompTel/ASCENT Fall Conference.
"As the leading industry association representing over 350 competitive facilities-based telecommunications service providers, emerging VoIP providers, and integrated communications companies, we quickly recognize the importance of the IP Communications development to the region and the need for a forum like IP Libre. The team of industry leaders that IP Libre has drawn together is impressive for this undertaking and we look forward to providing a premiere venue for IP Libre's inaugural educational initiative and growing our strategic relationship with IP Libre," stated Stephen Trotman, Senior Vice President, Emerging Markets and International Affairs for CompTel.
