BROADSOFT AND INTERVOIP OFFER VOIP PEERING TO BROADSOFT CUSTOMERS

October 17, 2005. BroadSoft Connections 2005 San Diego, CA. By joining the InterVOIP Network, BroadWorks-based service providers can terminate calls for free on all other Members' networks, thereby avoiding the cost of PSTN termination when the called party uses a VOIP service from another Member. Additional benefits of the BroadSoft Membership include waiver of the initiation fee required to join the InterVOIP Network, waiver of monthly minimums and special tools developed by InterVOIP for BroadWorksr administration of inter-provider traffic.

"Our customers wanted to join an IP-peering network so their calls are 'IP all the way' when possible" said Scott Wharton, Vice-President, Marketing, for BroadSoft. "In addition to reducing cost, their key requirements included security, quality of service and ease of administration. The BroadSoft Membership addresses these requirements, and we are delighted InterVOIP is delivering this innovative program exclusively to our customers."

InterVOIP Exchange developed the BroadSoft Membership specifically to enable BroadWorks-based service providers to terminate certain calls for free while maintaining security, guaranteeing quality of service and sharing sensitive data without competitive compromise. "We are an 'honest broker' -- a trusted third party -- who can enable these potentially competitive firms to interoperate safely with each other," said Wayne Willis, CEO of InterVOIP Exchange. "And we do so while imposing virtually no operational or administrative hassles." Willis also noted that the tools for administration of VOIP peering, customized for a leading platform like BroadWorks, allows all parties to benefit from using the features and interfaces of the platform itself.

"We are pleased to participate in this program," said Michael Viren, CEO of CommX, a Broadworks-based service provider based in Tampa, Florida. "Adding InterVOIP to our peering plans promises important cost savings. Voice over IP peering is the natural course to which the VoIP industry will migrate because of these cost savings. And having a simple, secure way to do so using core BroadWorksr features is critical."

"Free termination of IP calls on other members' networks is valuable, but there are many other services which these VOIP service providers can profitably sell to each other," said Willis. "We have a laser-like focus on serving the service providers, and, with their participation, we will develop additional products and services to add functionality, lower cost, expand reach or otherwise increase value for them and their end users. By partnering with BroadSoft, we can make sure these offerings work seamlessly with the BroadWorks VoIP application platform, thereby keeping operational errors and transaction costs as low as possible."

InterVOIP is a sponsor of the BroadSoft Connections conference and can be found at Booth #10 of the Exhibit Hall.

ABOUT InterVOIP Exchange

InterVOIP Exchange offers VOIP-based service providers a range of services that enable them to interoperate with other such service providers for their mutual advantage. By joining the InterVOIP Network, each "Member" service provider can access resources provided by other Members, without clumsy, bi-lateral agreements. Further, each Member is required to abide by certain minimums of good practice, thereby protecting the integrity of the entire network.

InterVOIP was launched earlier in 2005 by Wayne Willis, a veteran telecom entrepreneur who served as President of the Voice-Tel Network (an international voice messaging network) prior to its sale to PTEK in the mid-90s. Willis also served as CEO and/or Director of HealthScribe, a medical transcription network recently sold to George Soros; FaxNet, the enhanced fax service behind offerings from U.S. West, Bell South and Ameritech (sold to Critical Path in 1999); Cyracom International, an over-the-phone, language-translation network; and BeNotified Software, a unified communications company. Prior to his telecom career, Willis was a co-founder and Senior Partner of Hyatt Legal Services, a 200-office law firm serving middle-income American families.
