IP Unity Ships First Product to Leading Networking CompaniesIndustry Analysts Jeff Pulver and Mark Winther Applaud Successful Lab Trial of Media Server With Advanced Functionality
MILPITAS, Calif., May. 7 /PRNewswire/ -- IP Unity, an emerging leader in voice infrastructure products that enable voice, data and web-integrated services for next generation networks, announced today that an industry-leading networking company has successfully implemented the first lab trial of the company's advanced media server. IP Unity also announced it is currently in the process of shipping two additional trial products to industry leading networking companies. Additionally, IP Unity will be demonstrating its products and services at two upcoming industry conferences -- Networld+Interop (May 6-11 in Las Vegas) and SuperComm (June 3-7 in Atlanta).
The advanced functionality successfully trialed was Interactive Voice Response (IVR) on IP Unity's Harmony6000 Media Server and Conference Bridge on the Harmony6000 Applications Server. The conferencing applications possess unique voice and collaboration features including an open API, web based command and control, record and playback and are the most scalable in the industry. In addition to the IVR and conference bridge, IP Unity's carrier-class Harmony6000 media server also offers such advanced audio processing capabilities as announcements, recording and playback, automated speech recognition, transcoding, text-to-speech, fax, voice-mail, unified messaging, auto attendant and others on a common platform. Delivering multiple technologies on a single platform makes the Harmony6000(TM) Media Server ideal for efficiently and effectively deploying traditional voice services as well as enhanced voice/data/web integrated applications in both, voice over packet networks and legacy networks.
"IP Unity is addressing an enormous need for a carrier-class voice applications platform that integrates multiple audio processing functions," stated Mark Winther, industry analyst with IDC. "The market is asking for a platform that can bring about significant cost-savings and advanced applications, and based on early feedback it looks like IP Unity can deliver."
Jeff Pulver, of pulver.com and organizer of the VON Conferences, stated, "The promise of IP Telephony has been delivering enhanced applications. We think that media servers are where applications will converge. I am pleased to see the emergence of products that accelerate the creation and delivery of applications."
The IP Unity platform allows service providers, including CLECs, ISPs, ILECs, ASPs and voice portals, to economically and expeditiously deploy enhanced next generation services such as unified messaging, web-conferencing, tele-browsing and speech controlled call activation and web oriented services utilizing a carrier class, open and standards based hardware and software platform. The IP Unity platform elegantly addresses a critical measure of success by seamlessly integrating with both next-generation and legacy infrastructure.
"IP Unity is taking the lead in developing the technology required to deliver voice, data and web-enabled applications and services on a massively scalable platform that is independent of transport. I'm extremely pleased with our initial trial and eager to continue moving forward," stated Ahmed Afroz, president and founder of IP Unity.
