About the company (801 bytes)
NETRIX Corporation manufactures and markets wide area network switching products for enterprise networks. NETRIX products unify voice, data and image applications over the diverse and ever-changing array of communication services. Combining patented, switched, compressed-voice technology and advanced networking capabilities, NETRIX delivers networking solutions that improve network performance and achieve substantial operational savings.

Since its founding in 1985, NETRIX has remained at the leading edge of cost-effective networking technologies, combining circuit and packet transmission with T1 multiplexing on a single platform. The Company developed and marketed the #1-ISS, the first private WAN switch that combined X.25 and TDM. This pioneering concept, coupled with comprehensive network management, helped NETRIX gain rapid acceptance in networks around the world.

Frame Relay was added in 1990 to meet the need for more efficient wide area networking, and voice compression was added in 1992. The Company also went public in 1992, and is traded on the NASDAQ exchange. The acquisition of Republic Telcom Systems Corporation in 1994 added leading packetized voice technology and products to the NETRIX range.
