CWPS Deploys Managed VOIP Solution for Global Human Rights Agency

CHANTILLY, Va., Sep 27, 2010—CWPS, Inc., announced today the implementation of a Cisco Voice Over IP (VOIP) platform at the Arlington, Va., headquarters of International Justice Mission (IJM), the global human rights agency, to improve staff communication, provide long-term support and save money over employing a hosted solution.

CWPS, a full-service IT solutions provider and Cisco Premier Reseller, installed Cisco Unified Communications Manager Business Edition with SRST (Survivable Remote Site Telephony). The new platform gives IJM a unified network, centralized network management, and new capabilities beyond its previous hosted VOIP solution, and at less cost.

“The common perception that hosted VOIP solutions provide everything you need at less cost did not prove to be the case for us,” said John Lax, Vice President of Information Systems for International Justice Mission. “In fact, we found the hosted solution very limiting. Fortunately, CWPS showed us a better way.”

CWPS protected IJM’s investment in 120 IP phones and local Cisco switches by migrating the human rights organization to the new premises based system. The SRST capability provides basic IP telephony backup services so that IP phones can fall back to a remote site’s switch—if host connectivity in Arlington is lost.

IJM also selected EncorePro, CWPS’ 24 x 7 proactive system monitoring and tech support platform. Syn-Apps’ SA-Announce software rounded out CWPS’ technology deployment by sending real-time audio alerts to IP phones, enabling IJM staff to receive critical information more rapidly.

“The new Cisco communication solution offers far more features and flexibility than the hosted VOIP system, enabling IJM to better respond when victims need assistance as well as giving this premier organization peace of mind with its technology investment,” said Jason Waldrop, CEO of CWPS. “We’re grateful to be collaborating with an organization the caliber of IJM and supporting its meaningful work to stop violent oppression of the poor across the globe.”
