Ditech Networks Relies on Empirix’s Hammer Technology for VoIP PVP Product Performance

Empirix Inc., the market leader of service quality assurance solutions for new IP communications, today announced that Ditech Networks (NASDAQ: DITC), a global leader in mobile voice processing solutions, selected Empirix’s Hammer test solution to verify the Voice-over-IP (VoIP) capabilities of the Ditech Networks’ Packet Voice Processor (PVP). With its breadth of VoIP test coverage and thorough media testing capabilities, Empirix enabled Ditech Networks to discover and remediate issues throughout the development process, thereby assuring service quality prior to bringing its product to market.

The Hammer solution was selected because of its unrivaled ability to perform Ditech Networks’ demanding test scenarios. Hammer’s comprehensive capabilities include media transcoding verification across a wide range of codecs, failover testing and detailed VoIP call analysis. The power of the Hammer solution to test a broad range of media enabled Ditech Networks to discover and isolate issues, prioritize remediation and meet customer requirements for media crossover. As a result, Ditech Networks both reduced costs related to bringing PVP to market and ensured overall customer satisfaction with the quality of the final product.

“Ditech relies on Empirix’s extensive media testing capabilities necessary to ensure that the PVP would be able to optimize and measure voice quality in real time, on every phone call, in both directions for VoIP and 3G networks,” said Conne Skidanenko, senior director of engineering, Ditech Networks. “The Hammer technology’s second-to-none test capabilities made it easy to find and fix issues as the project evolved.”

Hammer testing solutions emulate users and devices interacting with voice-centric applications, including making calls, verifying features, measuring voice quality and determining performance, as well as proving system and multi-vendor interoperability of VoIP, NGN and IMS architectures.

“Our scalable architecture and broad range of VoIP test functionality provides Ditech Networks with the depth of information needed to create a solid product,” said Gordon Eddy, director of product management, Empirix. “We are pleased that Ditech Networks has been able to leverage our technology to its advantage and look forward to future developments in our partnership.”
