IP Communications Articles: 100 Carriers Now Using iXLink® Service

Growing Community of Service Providers Leveraging Business Information Exchange to Simplify Interconnect Transactions and Improve Global Commerce between Carriers

iXLink, a business unit of Telarix, Inc., today announced that more than 100 telecom carriers worldwide are now using iXLink to automatically exchange business information among their trading partners. This milestone comes just six months after iXLink became operational.

Today, the increasing complexity and volume of price lists, invoices, declarations and other business documents, combined with the variety of data formats now being used, has created a challenging environment for service providers. Carriers are devoting substantial resources to track, format, validate, process and manage these transactions with each business partner. According to industry research firm Yankee Group, miscommunication arising from poor and/or lost data will collectively cost U.S. and European operators in excess of US$6 billion per year by 2010.

iXLink is fundamentally redefining how the world’s carriers conduct business with one another. As an open community of telecom carriers, iXLink enables carriers to efficiently exchange business information, reducing the costs and complexities associated with interconnection including the purchase and sales processes; international dial code management; billing; invoice validation; and settlement. iXLink’s flexible design supports fixed, mobile and VoIP service providers of any size, location or technical sophistication; is easy to implement; and provides immediate results. By electronically exchanging business data and documents, carriers can streamline their interconnection management processes as well as reduce the complexity and administrative costs surrounding daily interconnect transactions.

“This milestone is a testament to how iXLink has created a collaborative environment for service providers to conduct business with one another,” said Don Lynch, CEO of Telarix. “By using a secure, reliable business-to-business information exchange service, carriers have been able to streamline operations and automate the interconnect transactions between their trading partners.”

Recently the Yankee Group called iXLink an effective solution to reduce miscommunications and lost data in the telecom industry. A copy of the Yankee Group report can be obtained at http://www.ixlink.com.
