Go2Call Software offers VoIP solutions for GSM 2G networks that empower mobile operators to provide simultaneously higher quality and lower cost voice services to subscribers. With the recent auction of 4G wireless spectrum licenses, the FCC adopted rules that mandate the networks must operate under “open access” provisions. This means any VoIP services can support telephone calls through application software operating on the mobile device. Further, the primary 4G spectrum license holders will also support telephone calls as VoIP applications on mobile devices.
Although 4G networks will operate under “open access” rules, similar to a cable or DSL ISP supporting any VoIP service today, the use of patented technologies may be particularly important for offering superior and differentiated voice services. Even though network operators must provide “open access,” these companies have recently been vigilant in enforcing patent rights for VoIP services.
