Objectworld Communications Corp. today announced that Payworks Payroll Services has deployed Objectworld’s Unified Communications Server to provide a VoIP-based unified communications solution for its 100 employees across three locations. The solution will help Payworks save up to $52,000 per year while providing several key productivity features that allow the company’s call center, sales and management teams to respond to customers more quickly and professionally.

As a midsize company based in Winnipeg, Payworks estimates that Objectworld’s UC Server will save them up to $16,000/year on long distance charges across its three locations by utilizing the same SIP-based network. Additional savings for the company’s call center, which now receives 300-400 calls per day, is enabling the IT team to maintain the new unified communications system without adding headcount or outsourcing that could run upwards of about $36,000. By implementing the Objectworld solution, Payworks reduces its total cost of ownership by about $52,000 each year.

“We evaluated other solutions like Mitel and Asterisk before deciding on Objectworld. With Mitel, the cost/benefit ratio was too low to justify the high price and Asterisk was an IT administration gong show,” said Kevin Sokolowski, vice president of information technology at Payworks. “Objectworld integrated well with Active Directory and was about 20% less to purchase and deploy than Asterisk. Objectworld UC Server is excellent, and Objectworld’s after sales service and support has been fantastic.”

By choosing Objectworld, Payworks will spend more time on other business critical projects. With the centralized, single-point administration that Objectworld’s integration provides with Active Directory, Payworks estimates they will also save up to one hour/user/per year with a time savings of 100 hours for all its employees, every year.

Objectworld’s UC Server SIP Edition is similar to a PBX, but is entirely Windows-based software. UC Server works with a variety of open-standard hardware and software and combines VoIP telephony with common unified messaging and unified communications features as a single software application. The solution for Payworks combines Objectworld’s UC Server SIP Edition, PolyCom SIP telephones, an AudioCodes Mediant Gateway and Quintum Tenor Analog FXS/FXO Gateways. Payworks also plans to use Objectworld’s solution to automate and streamline customer service in its call center.

“Objectworld is always thrilled to work with customers like Payworks,” said David Levy, president and chief executive officer at Objectworld. “They’re already a recognized leader in payroll services, and Objectworld UC Server will help them compete more effectively by driving down costs and driving up opportunity. There is nothing more rewarding than to build a software product that helps our customers and our partners meet their challenges with end-to-end Microsoft-centric solutions.”
