RMI Corporation, a leading provider of High Performance Processor Solutions for Networking, Communications and Media Rich Applications, today announced that it has released a BSP for Windows Embedded CE 6.0 R2 for its industry leading RMI AlchemyTM Processor Family aimed at Portable Media Players, Personal Navigation Devices and Home Media Players.
RMI is releasing the BSP for Windows Embedded CE 6.0 R2 as part of its software development kit (SDK 2.0) for the RMI® AlchemyTM Au1200® Processor Family. The SDK includes optimized video and audio codecs ported to each processor that utilize the unique Alchemy on-chip Media Acceleration Engine™ (MAE) hardware. The Windows Embedded CE 6.0 R2 offering is designed for developers and device-makers wanting to quickly build service-oriented commercial and consumer electronics devices. With new features, including the Web Services on Devices API, voice over Internet protocol (VoIP) telephony capabilities, and thin-client technology enhancements, Windows Embedded CE 6.0 R2 enables devices to seamlessly connect to computers and other devices running Windows Vista and Windows Server 2008.
