Streamcore Delivers Quick ROI, Reduces Networking Costs, Ensures Application Performance and More
Streamcore, a global provider of visibility and dynamic performance control solutions to manage application and voice over IP (VoIP) delivery over the WAN, today announced the results of a new study conducted by Forrester that examines how quickly companies can obtain a return on investment (ROI) for deploying Streamcore’s solutions. The study reveals that enterprises using Streamcore’s products will have a positive impact on improving user productivity and reducing overall network costs.

“In turbulent times, network teams are under pressure to do more with fewer resources, both financial and human, without impairing service levels,” said Christophe Peretou, Streamcore’s vice president of operations. “This study will help them build their case as Streamcore is a perfect tool to address this type of challenge.”
The study examined a large European insurance company with 160 sites, a 300 person IT staff, of which 20 people take part in network and system related activities. Eight of the 20 staffers are involved in the monitoring and reporting of network performance. The company spent approximately US $3.03 M per year in total network services.
Key findings from the study include:
* Streamcore’s solutions resulted in a 144 percent ROI with a 13 month payback period for the first deployment.
* Total five-year reduced network and network operations costs were US $2.53 M on average.
* Total user productivity gains for the period were US $2.02 M.
Streamcore’s solutions have been proven to be a smart investment for companies that wish to speed the performance of critical applications, lower network operating costs and boost employee productivity.
Streamcore commissioned this study to help enterprises understand the business case for its solutions and to educate businesses on the breadth of benefits that can be realized by properly monitoring and controlling network traffic flows. The study details how Streamcore solutions can help companies to significantly reduce network operating costs by:
* Identifying and downgrading over provisioned Internet links at networked sites
* Postponing expensive bandwidth upgrades
* Receiving credits from network service providers for service level agreement breeches
* Gaining efficiencies in network monitoring, reporting, helpdesk and network re-engineering
* Reducing third party network auditing costs.
Companies Save Money by Boosting Employee Productivity
Streamcore’s advanced traffic controls, which include dynamic quality of service (QoS), VoIP control, compression and load balancing over two WAN links, improve the speed at which applications respond to end user requests. Forrester’s study calculated the end user productivity gains achieved by boosting the performance of Citrix applications.
“While the Forrester study was limited, tallying only the productivity gains for Citrix applications, companies should consider the broader productivity gains that can be achieved when the performance of all critical business applications are improved,” added Peretou. “Forrester’s study is helpful because it provides an objective framework that companies can apply to their own network environment to determine the vast benefits that Streamcore can deliver.”
Forrester’s Methodology for Calculating ROI
Forrester‘s Total Economic Impact (TEI) methodology was used in the study to measure costs, cost reductions, risks and the value of Streamcore’s technology in increasing the effectiveness of business processes.
