Teliax Deploys Internap’s Flow Control Platform (FCP) to Optimize Voice over IP (VoIP) Service for C

The Yankee Group estimates that the business VoIP market will grow at a compounded annual rate of 31.4 percent, reaching nearly $3.3 billion in 20101. This growth will be driven in part, by increasing broadband Internet access and the availability of low-cost, high-quality VoIP services like Teliax.
Teliax has deployed five 10Gbps FCP appliances in Atlanta, Chicago, Denver, Los Angeles and New York, allowing them to granularly monitor network traffic and improve network performance while reducing costs. Each FCP automates and accelerates the engineering work typically required to optimize network performance in light of continually changing traffic conditions. Using the FCP, Teliax is able to streamline network operations without requiring additional engineering resources.
The Internap FCP provides network performance management and monitoring across multiple Internet connections. Without an FCP, Border Gateway Protocol (BGP) is often the default routing mechanism. BGP routes data over statically defined connections, which frequently results in poor performance. The FCP’s approach, which demonstrates Internap’s leadership as an IP industry pioneer, proactively monitors network connections, analyzes performance and dynamically routes traffic for maximum performance and cost-effectiveness. The Internap FCP can improve performance at an average of 20-50 percent, thereby increasing end-user satisfaction.
