uLocate’s WHERETM Selected as Location Based Platform for Sprint’s XOHM Initiative

Today, uLocate Communications announced its award winning location-based application platform, WHERE, has been chosen by Sprint to power the portal that will deliver local information and mapping services to XOHM subscribers. In this role, WHERE will act as a development platform for content owners that wish to harness the location information inherent in 4G WiMAX technology for their applications. As part of the announcement uLocate’s Buddy Beacon®, North America’s leading friend finding application will also be available to XOHM users.
WHERE will provide XOHM with a fully converged mobile internet experience and feature unique location based content from leading brands including:
* Yelp - a useful service which provides user generated reviews on restaurants and businesses nearby.
* Topix - the nation’s leading news aggregator service which delivers headlines relevant to a user’s current location.
* Eventful - a fun and easy way to find out what events are happening in your neighborhood.
