ZyXEL will debut its Smart Home Gateway (SHG)—the world’s first battery-powered 3G /11n wireless platform for health monitoring and assisted living solutions—in the Continua Alliance booth (North Hall # 2817) at the new CES Digital Health Summit. ZyXEL will also showcase its MWR222 Mobile Wireless Router—a portable device that offers individuals and business travelers always-on, anywhere, high-speed Internet access—at the Renaissance hotel, suite # 1032.
The ZyXEL SHG222 acts as a central hub for communicating via wired or wireless connection information collected from various Zigbee-connected health monitors—such as blood sugar and heart rate monitors—to the health care providers. The SHG222 offers service and solution providers significant potential for new revenue. The SHG222 offers battery backup failover, delivering always-on connectivity, vital in this application during power interruptions and outages.
The ZyXEL MWR222 is a rugged, pocket-sized, 11n-compatible, portable Wi-Fi router that users can take with them wherever they go. It can support fixed (DSL/Cable) and mobile broadband (3G/4G) connectivity for a true, always-on, anywhere connection. The MWR222 is ideal for using and sharing Wi-Fi for travelers in hotels, airport and vehicles. It is also great as a hotspot access point at trade shows, seminars, business demos, camping and outdoor social gatherings.
Also on display at ZyXEL’s suite will be the industry’s first all-in-one, multi-service LTE gateway, the ZLR-2070S. Ideal for residences and SOHOs, the ZLR-2070S is a feature-rich gateway that includes 50Mbps 4G broadband connectivity, VoIP ports, home networking via a four-port switch and 11n wireless and a USB port (to share devices, such as printers and storage).
Additionally at CES, ZyXEL will host a “Connected Home & Entertainment” display at its suite at the Renaissance Hotel. Several ZyXEL solutions will be on display live including IPTV, connected entertainment and smart VDSL2 gateway, which enables service providers to offer premium services like home automation and control, home security and Telehealth.
