Comtrend Corp., a leading supplier of broadband, VoIP and data networking equipment, today announced the immediate availability of its new CT-814M 4-Port VoIP Gateway for use in Small-to-Medium Business (SMB) and Small Office/Home Office (SOHO) applications. The on-premises device delivers professional-grade VoIP calls to and from up to four analog phone lines, and supports the full range of features for state-of-the-art calling quality.

In addition to its VoIP support, the CT-814M includes 1 10/100 Ethernet WAN port for connecting to broadband access device (DSL modem, T1 router, cable modem, etc) and 4 10/100 LAN ports. Remote firmware upgrades and remote administration technologies ensure effective deployments by telecommunication companies.
Comtrend’s CT-814M offers an unusually attractive feature set that ensures voice and data operation at modern business standards. High on its list of capabilities is a Stateful Packet Inspection (SPI) firewall that can be used to establish systemwide access policies. Its keyword/URL filtering capability also ensures business-class security and higher worker productivity. The CT-814M is ICSA certification level 4.0 Corporate, the highest level of firewall security rating available from ICSA.
To maintain call quality equal or superior to the PSTN, the CT-814M offers comprehensive SIP calling functions such as echo cancellation and digital gain control. The device delivers packet loss concealment for G.711 and G.726 along with a dynamic/adaptive jitter buffer algorithm, and includes an audio mixer for three-way calling. DiffServ Quality of Service (QoS) and traffic management is also included.
PBX services for the CT-814M run the full range of options, from call hold, call waiting, call forward and call transfer to selective inward call blocking, alarm/wakeup and click-to-dial. Other VoIP features include digit map configuration, caller ID/Calling Line Identification Presentation (CLIP) using FSK, call processing tone, and fax/high-speed modem pass-through and G.711 auto-negotiation.
