NEC Unified Solutions Offers Software-based Communications

Software Development Kit and IP PBX Available for Developers and Customers

NEC Unified Solutions, Inc., a global leader in enterprise business communications, today announced that it is the distributor of technology from NEC Sphere Communications, Inc. in North America. NEC Unified will now sell, support and market the software-based communication solution. This is a continuation of NEC’s UNIVERGE®360 vision which helps unify business communications based on the role of people in the organization.

Following NEC Corporation’s acquisition of Sphere in August 2007, NEC Unified now supports the Sphericall software and applications for enterprise communications for new and existing businesses. The software is based on open standards such as SOAP, XML and SIP which allows developers access to the rich communications services and aligns with the concepts of a Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) enabling enterprise applications to very easily embed communications functions into critical business processes. In addition, with the IP PBX solution NEC Unified now offers a software-based solution to help bridge the gap between communications and IT.
