Stratus’ ENTICE Platform Helps Launch Barbados Long-Distance Carrier
Blue Communications Leverages Stratus’ ENTICE E-REV Solution to Enter Barbados’ Newly Deregulated Market

Stratus Technologies, Inc., today announced that Blue Communications Ltd. (http://www.blue.bb), a new wholesale and retail long-distance carrier in Barbados, is using the Stratus ENTICE E-REV solution as its services deployment platform. The E-REV solution enables Blue Communications to interconnect multi-protocol traffic between the incumbent Barbados provider and international carrier networks, as well as offer enterprise VoIP and other services to the island’s newly deregulated telecom market.
For wholesale operations, Blue Communications uses E-REV’s integrated session controller in conjunction with Dialogic’s IMG 1010 signaling gateways to provide origination and termination services to international carriers. For the retail side of its business, Blue relies on E-REV’s class 5 capabilities to efficiently deploy full-featured enterprise VoIP services including unified messaging and find-me-follow-me functionality.
Stratus’ E-REV solution includes billing capabilities that will be used by Blue Communications for wholesale and retail billing operations, as well as for future calling card services.
Blue selected the Stratus E-REV platform because of its comprehensive and integrated suite of capabilities, scalability, easy-to-use Web-based provisioning, and ability to solve the challenges of interconnecting with the incumbent carrier’s network.
