TaquaWorks Chosen by CC Communications to Replace Legacy 5E Switch
Churchill County, Nevada-based Incumbent Carrier Gains Ability to Deliver Next-Generation Fixed and Mobile Converged Services to Nevada Businesses and Residential Users
Taqua®, LLC, a leading supplier of next-generation end-office switching systems and technologies, and BroadSoft®, Inc., a leading provider of VoIP application software, today announced that Fallon, Nevada-based CC Communications has selected the companies’ TaquaWorks™ network transformation solution to enable converged services across legacy, fiber to the home (FTTH), and mobile networks.
CC Communications has been providing services to Churchill County, Nevada, since 1889. Today, the company serves residents and businesses with quadruple-play services — local and long distance telephone, wireless, Internet access and digital television. CC Communications will replace its legacy 5E central office switch with the TaquaWorks solution, in order to provide advanced converged services across its FTTH-based IPTV and wireless networks.
“After evaluating the alternatives, we chose TaquaWorks because of its product architecture and customer reputation,” said John Powell, operations manager at CC Communications. “The feedback we received from their long-time customers was a big part of our decision making process. Everyone we talked with has had excellent experiences with the platform and in particular with Taqua’s customer support. The integration of BroadWorks advanced features will also give us a significant advantage in our service markets.”
TaquaWorks is a tightly integrated combination of the Taqua 7000™ (T7000) end-office switching system and BroadSoft’s BroadWorks suite of advanced Hosted Unified Communications, Mobile PBX and Residential Broadband applications. By deploying the TaquaWorks solution, CC Communications can immediately generate new revenues with enhanced services and significantly save on operations costs by replacing its legacy 5E Class 5 switch.
“CC Communications conducted one of the most extensive evaluations of competing solutions that we have seen in several years,” said Scott Weidenfeller, chief marketing officer of Taqua. “Earning this selection speaks volumes for Taqua’s architecture and our customer support reputation. Taqua is completely focused on helping small and medium sized carriers like CC Communications succeed in their marketplace and TaquaWorks is the best way for these carriers to significantly save operational costs while increasing revenue per user.”
“When you have been in business since 1889 like CC Communications has, customers come to depend on your service and expect quality,” said Scott Hoffpauir, CTO for BroadSoft. “That’s what makes selection of our joint solution with Taqua so rewarding. The addition of BroadWorks calling features will make CC Communications one of the most progressive service providers in the western states.”
