e-mail on cellular phone,SMS/short message service/

Croatian telecom just start with short message services and
wap.
every cellular phone has his e-mail adress and could send and receive e-mails.
I am still not sure what is tha main difference between e-mail on the cellular phone and SMS,cause there are limit 160 parameters both in e-mail and SMS.
